Dr. Alistair Sims, a former student at Sidcot School, received the UK’s Points of Light Award for his efforts in founding ‘Books on the Hill,’ a Clevedon-based bookshop under BOTH Press. The press creates and funds larger font books to support dyslexic readers of all ages, aiming to change how dyslexia is perceived and encouraging dyslexic-friendly fiction. The press’s achievements, including British Book Awards recognition and a British Science Fiction Association nomination, hope to inspire other publishers. Dr. Sims also engages with Sidcot School, supporting students through author visits.
